Purpose of activity

Dispatch: To contribute to the development of personnel, organizations, and institutions at the national and sectoral level by engaging in technology transfers and making proposals to the government officials and engineers in developing countries based on conditions in that country, and by improving administrative capabilities カ ジ ノ シ ー ク レ ッ トechniques.
Receipt of personnel: Bring engineers, researchers, and government officials to Japan カ ジ ノ シ ー ク レ ッ トransfer knowledge カ ジ ノ シ ー ク レ ッ トechnology.

(1) Dispatch of experts:
(a) individual experts, including private sector advisors, and (b) project experts
(2) Technical Training Programs

JODC (Japan Overseas Development Corporation)

Purpose of activity

To improve the industrial technologies of private businesses in developing nations カ ジ ノ シ ー ク レ ッ トo promote the dispatch of experts to developing countries with the support of the Ministry of International Trade and Industry(MITI) for the purpose of supporting industrial structure improvement projects being promoted by local government institutions and industrial organizations.

Major personnel training programs

JODC Expert Service Abroad Program
(1) JESA-I: dispatching experts to assist individual private enterprises in a developing countries economy to modernize their business:
(2) JESA-II: dipatching experts to support the efforts of trade associations, public institutions カ ジ ノ シ ー ク レ ッ トheir affiliates to restructure their industrial systems.

Field

Production technologies in textiles, electrical machinery カ ジ ノ シ ー ク レ ッ トools, automobiles and other vehicles, general machines カ ジ ノ シ ー ク レ ッ トools, and steel, as well as guidance in management techniques.

Host institution

Private businesses in developing countries (however, there should be no agreement of technical assistance between applicant and a Japanese business based on a commercial contract or plant export contract. (JESAI)
Regarding JESAII above, local economic organizations, industrial associations, or their participating institutions or businesses.

2 weeks to 2 years

Costs covered by

(1) Partner business: 1/4 JODC: 3/4
(2) Totally funded by JODC
(3) Asian Crisis Support Program is totally funded by the JODC except for local administrative expenses.

AOTS (Association for Overseas Technical Scholarship)

Purpose of activity

To promote international economic cooperation by training the engineers of foreign companies, カ ジ ノ シ ー ク レ ッ トo contribute to the mutual economic development of and foster friendly relations between Japan and developing countries.

Major personnel training programs

Education カ ジ ノ シ ー ク レ ッ トraining:
(1) Technical and managerial training services on a private basis in Japan. a) General orientation courses; b) management training programs.
(2) Pre-departure Japanese language training programs in developing countries.
(3) Overseas correspondence programs on management techniques for developing countries.
(4) Overseas training programs outside Japana
(5) Trainers training programs for Japanesカ ジ ノ シ ー ク レ ッ トnstructors.
(6) APO Training Programs

Industrial fields, business management, environmental technologies, etc.

AOTS Research Center, on-site training at the receiving company

Term

Receipt of personnel: 1 week to 2 years, including introductory training
Overseas training: 1 week to 3 months

Costs covered by

75% of aid recipient expenses covered by national grants. Private funds cover about half of all program management expenses.

OVTA (Overseas Vocational Training Association)

Purpose of activity

To engagカ ジ ノ シ ー ク レ ッ トn international cooperation by training businesspeople to train foreigners.

Major personnel training programs

(1) On-site training overseas: Developmemt of the Japanesカ ジ ノ シ ー ク レ ッ トnstructors to teach job skills to foreign employee. trainees from overseas
(2) Silver Consultant program
(3) Assitance カ ジ ノ シ ー ク レ ッ トPEC human resources development skills training.

Production technologies, management techniques

Host institution

(1) Private companies (when the dispatch source and destination companies have a capital relationship, 50% or less is paid)
(3) Conduct technical training for local residents not employed by Japanese companies in the APEC region

Term

(1) Dispatch: 6 to 18 months
Receipt: 3-6 months
(2) 2 weeks to 4 months
(3) 2 years

Costs covered by

(1) Orientation, transportation, preparation, training, and living costs, etc.
(2) Transportation, preparation, and living costs, etc.
(3) Facilities, materials, trainers, part of the costs involved in training such as applicant recruiting expenses

JITCO (Japan International Training Cooperation Organization)

Purpose of activity

To expカ ジ ノ シ ー ク レ ッ トhe number of and facilitate the arrival of incoming foreign trainees, カ ジ ノ シ ー ク レ ッ トo contribute to the personnel training in and economic and social development of developing countries by actively transferring Japanese technologies, skills, and knowledge to those countries.
